FAQ

Do you work on residential or commercial systems?
Freedom Irrigation works exclusively with residential irrigation systems. We do not service HOAs or commercial properties.
What areas do you service?
We serve Chattanooga, TN and surrounding communities in Hamilton County, plus Rossville, Fort Oglethorpe, and Ringgold in Georgia for general irrigation work. Backflow testing is only available in Tennessee.
Do you provide free estimates?
Yes — we provide free quotes for irrigation installations, repairs, and upgrades.
When should I winterize my irrigation system?
Before the first hard freeze — usually late Oct or early Nov in Chattanooga.
When should I schedule a spring start-up?
Early–mid spring, after freeze risk has passed.
What is backflow testing and why is it required?
It verifies your irrigation isn’t allowing contaminants into the drinking supply. Tennessee and local utilities require annual tests by a state-certified tester.
Do you repair all irrigation brands?
Yes — Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, and more.
Can you install smart irrigation controllers?
Absolutely. We install and program smart controllers that adjust to weather/season/soil for maximum efficiency.
How long does an irrigation installation take?
Typically 1–3 days depending on lot size, soil, and system complexity.
Do you offer emergency irrigation repairs?
We try to provide same-day or next-day service for major leaks or failures.
Will irrigation increase my water bill?
A well-designed, maintained system often uses less water than manual watering.
Do you offer drip irrigation for flower beds and gardens?
Yes — drip delivers water to the root zone, reducing waste and improving plant health.
Can you adjust my system for seasonal changes?
Yes — we offer seasonal maintenance for spring, summer, and fall.
What brands do you recommend for irrigation parts?
Primarily Rain Bird and Hunter for reliability and support.
Are you insured?
Yes — fully insured for your peace of mind.
Do I need to be home for service?
Not always. If we have access to the controller, water, and yard, we can usually handle it.
Do I need a pressure regulator for my irrigation system?
If pressure is high, a regulator prevents misting, improves coverage, and protects components. We install and set regulators to spec.
